What a busy week! We've been able to hear from parents, educators, school leaders, counselors, health care professionals and youth in Parachute, Rifle and Basalt this week. It was a powerful experience to hear concerns and know that PREP is able to support strategies to address them.
Here is what we heard:
Parents in Parachute want classes to help them talk with their teens about sex and sexuality. They want information on sexually transmitted infections and feel more confident that they have all the information they need to keep their teens healthy and safe.
Youth in the RE2 school district want to be heard. They want to ask their peers questions about what they know and how they get their information about being healthy. These youth are hoping to get access to the youth sexual health education classes. Parents in Rifle want their own classes.
Educators and youth in Basalt want support getting vital information to youth on how to be safe and healthy. PREP was asked to collaborate and provide proven education curricula within various community agency events.
Check out our events page as we continue to update with the support that each community has requested. We hope you take advantage of all that we are able to offer.
